Allan R. Clampitt

Allan R. Clampitt, 63, of Grand Island, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the Messiah Lutheran Church. The Reverend Harvey Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mr. Clampitt was born on February 26, 1947 at Grand Island, the son of Robert and Jane (Brown) Clampitt.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol; daughters and son-in-law, Amelia Ann Reimers of Grand Island and Bettejayne and Tony Cavitt of Grand Island; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne Ann and Charles Buswell of Lincoln, NE; and mother, Jane Clampitt of Grand Island.

Other survivors include five grandchildren, Matthew Clampitt, Ben Clampitt, Lance Reimers, Alicia Clampitt, and Gage Cavitt; great grandson, Cayden Clampitt and many nieces and nephews.

He was welcomed into heaven by his father and brother James G. Clampitt.

Allan grew up in Alda, graduating from Wood River High School, Class of 1965. He went on to complete two and a half years at Kearney State College.

He was united in marriage to Carol Doty on April 1, 1972 here in Grand Island.

He was employed by First National Bank of Grand Island as well as Equitable Building and Loan, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Sons of American Legion and the Messiah Lutheran Church. Allan enjoyed camping, but most of all enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

A memorial fund will be established in Allan’s name.
