Edd Dean

Edd Dean, 85, of Grand Island, formerly of the rural Shelton, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Wedgewood Care Center.

Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.  Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Dean was born March 9, 1924 at Shelton, the son of Noah and Alice (Obland) Dean.

Survivors are his sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Bruce Aurand of Chapman, sister-in-law, Frances Dean of Sutton and nieces and nephews.

His parents and brother, Charles Dean preceded him in death.

Edd grew up on the family farm near Shelton.  He graduated from Shelton High School.  Edd farmed most of his life.  He has been a resident of Riverside Lodge for fifteen years.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.  Edd enjoyed being on the farm and taking care of all the animals.

A memorial fund will be established in Edd’s memory for special programs at Riverside Lodge or Wedgewood Care Center.
