Rod Falldorf

Rod Falldorf, 66, of Grand Island, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.  Cremation has taken place.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Falldorf was born November 28, 1943 at Grand Island the son of Raymond and Ruth (Oliver) Falldorf.

Survivors are his wife Chris and brothers and sisters-in-law, Dick and Linda Falldorf of Gretna and Randy and Lonna Falldorf of Grand Island.

Other survivors are his wife’s family, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Bethene Heusel; brothers-in-law and their spouses, Steve and Shelly Heusel of Grand Island and Herb, Jr. and Chris Heusel of Grand Island; sisters-in-law, Beth Dumesco of Germantown, Maryland and Penny Stovel of Lincoln and nephews, nieces and many close friends.

His parents welcomed him into heaven.

Rod was raised in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1961.  He was united in marriage to Chris Heusel on March 5, 1983.  They made Grand Island their home where Rod worked at Dub’s Sporting Goods for 38 years, retiring in 2006.

He is a member of the Platt-Duetsche.  He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid football fan.  Rod loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing.

A memorial fund will be established in Rod’s memory.

Continued celebration will take place following the memorial service at the Platt-Duetsche.  In remembrance of Rod please dress casually.
