Kimberly K. Evans

Kimberly K. Evans, 46, of Grand Island, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Regional Medical Center in Lincoln.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home.  The Reverend Jack Gillam will officiate.  Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. 

Visitation will be one hour before service time.

Kimberly was born June 12, 1963 at Grand Island.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Marge (Hoover) Evans of Grand Island; brother and sister-in-law, David and Rhonda Evans of Lincoln; sister, Theresa Evans of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Lisa Evans Grand Island and grandmother, Betty Hoover of Hastings.

She is also survived by an uncle, Greg Hoover of Oregon; nephews, Donnie Evans, Tylar Evans and Brent Vetick; nieces, Kimmie Evans and Meagan Meyer; special great nephew, Isaac Sanchez; great nieces, Ana and Alyssa; great nephews, Cayden and Adrian; and great-great niece, Shyannah.

Kim was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Evans on April 9, 2006; grandfather, Donald Hoover; grandmother, Caroline Theesen Young; uncles, Gary Hoover and Larry Hoover and a nephew Douglas Tangeman.

Kim grew up in Grand Island, receiving her education at Dodge Elementary School, Barr Middle School, GISH and graduated from Northwest High School, class of 1981.  She was employed by Interstate Holiday Inn, after which she was employed by Nebraska Veterans Home until she retired due to ill health.  Kim continued to work part time at South Skagway until she could no longer do so.

Kim greatest enjoyment was spending time with her nieces and nephews.
