Esther L. Larsen

Esther L. Larsen, 86, a long time resident of Grand Island, NE, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Island.  Burial of Ashes will be in her parent’s graves in Hillsboro, KS.

All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Mrs. Larsen was born to John B. and Elizabeth Ediger on August 15, 1923 at Henderson, Nebraska.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert B. Larsen, her parents and brother, El Ediger.

She is survived by sister, Marie Schultz of Hillsboro, KS; brothers, John W. Ediger of Reedley, CA, Marvin L. Ediger of Elk River, MN and Harold D. Ediger of Eugene, OR.

She will be greatly missed by her family.  Esther was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora.  She was an avid donor of blood, having given over 21 gallons to the American Red Cross.  Mrs. Larsen had two long Careers.  She retired from the Farm Service Association in Aurora after 35 years of service.  She completed 23 years at the Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce.

Memorials are suggested to the Central Plains Chapter of the American Red Cross or to the Evangelical Free Church.
