"Jackie" Ann Legg
Jacquelyn ‘Jackie’ Ann Legg, 57, of Doniphan, NE, died peacefully of metastatic breast cancer at St. Francis Medical Center on Thursday morning May 27, 2010.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Grand Island. The Reverend Jonathan Sorensen will officiate.
Burial will be in the Cedarview Cemetery near Doniphan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends from 6 to 7, with a parish rosary at 7.
Jackie was born on April 18, 1953 in Loup City, NE to Leo and Marie (Wroblewski) Krajewski. She graduated from Grand Island Central Catholic High School in 1971 and was married to Melvin Legg that same year.
Jackie will be remembered for her outgoing personality, strong will, caring heart and courage. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always stressed the importance of family unity. Jacquelyn loved antiquing at auctions, traveling with her family, and road tripping in their motor coach. She was an avid gardener, shopper, and lover of pets.
Jackie became a grandmother for the first time on April 12, 2010. Although her time was cut short with her new grandbaby, she took every advantage to cuddle, sing, and spend time with her.
Jackie is welcomed into heaven by her mother, father and deceased pets. She leaves behind her beloved family; husband, Melvin Legg of Doniphan; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Rick Ware of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike McCarty of Lincoln; granddaughter, Maisey Marie Jacquelyn McCarty of Lincoln; and many more extended family and friends who will miss her.
Memorials may be given to the Grace Foundation in lieu of flowers.
