Richard L. Marler, 69, of Fremont, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his
home in Fremont with his loving family by his side.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home in
Grand Island. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial of ashes
will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may sign the guest book on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. with family
receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
Mr. Marler was born December 16, 1940 at Grand Island.
Survivors are his wife, Janet of Fremont; sons and daughters-in-law,
David and Judy “Tooter” Marler and Chris and Shawna Marler
of Grand Island.
Other survivors are two grandsons, David and Daniel Marler.
He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Kenneth and Anna (Rasmussen)
Marler; brother Kenneth Marler, Jr. and granddaughter, Hailey C. Marler.
Richard was raised in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior
High. He was united in marriage to Janet Pronske on March 12, 1993
at Fremont, NE.
Richard was employed at Heinzman Engineering in Grand Island until
moving to Fremont in 1987. He then worked for Diesel Power in Omaha
and later worked for Murphy Tractor at Omaha; all dealing with John Deere
parts and services.
He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Grand Island; former
member of the Platte-Duetsche; former member of the Dragon Car Club and
C-Dan’s Car Club both of Grand Island and was sanctioned by the
National Hot Rod Association. He was also a past member of Fraternal
Order of the Eagles #200 of Fremont.
A memorial fund will be established in Richard’s name.
