Kenneth
E. Masden
Kenneth E. Masden, 90, of Grand Island died Tuesday, March 2, 2010
at the Nebraska Veterans Home of Grand Island.
Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, in All Faiths Chapel of
Grand Island Veterans Home. Chaplain Bill Noer will officiate. Burial
will follow in Nebraska Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors
provided by Grand Island United Veterans Honor Guard and the United States
Army.
Visitation will be from 4-7 Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mr. Masden was born on October 30, 1919, the son of Frank and Alice
(Little) Masden at Wagner, SD.
He was united in marriage to Lila Rose Canaday on June 28, 1941. Following
their marriage, the couple lived in Ocheyedan, IA.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Lila Rose
(Canaday) Masden; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Don Ehrismann of Grand
Island, NE, and son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Marty Masden of
Carnation, WA.
He is also survived by a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Sheila
and Les Morris; great grandsons, Jason Lucas and Andrew Morris and a
great-granddaughter, Ali Morris, all of Grand Island.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Kenneth grew up on the family farm near Wagner, SD. He graduated
from Faith Home Academy at Mitchell, SD. Kenneth entered the United
States Army Air Corps on February 23, 1942, serving World War II in the
Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was a member of the 18 th Fighter Control
Squadron and was honorably discharged on October 18, 1945. Kenneth
and Lila moved to Lincoln, NE, in 1964. He was employed by Graball
Electric.
