Anita Carlgren Obermeier

Anita Carlgren Obermeier, 63, of rural Phillips, died Monday, March 15, 2010 at The University of Nebraska Medical Center with her family by her side.

Service will be 11 A.M. Saturday at the Northridge Assembly of God Church, 3025 Independence Avenue.  The Reverend Mark Oberbeck will officiate.  Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mrs. Obermeier was born on March 25, 1946 at Kansas City, MO, the daughter of John and Esther (Raad) Mooneyhan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Steven; son, Ed Hofheins of Omaha and his daughter, Farra McChesney; daughter and son-in-law, Lt.Col Tammy and Lt.Col Eric Trychon of Nellis Air Force Base, NV; father, John Mooneyhan of Kansas City, MO; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Kathy Mooneyhan of Lee Summit, MO and Charles E. Mooneyhan of Phillips, NE; and her father and mother-in-law, Clyde and Rita Obermeier of Giltner.

She was welcomed into heaven by her mother.

Anita graduated from high school in Sedalia, MO.  She went on to receive a degree in concert and music education from Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg, MO.  She received her masters’ degree from Hastings College.  She moved to Grand Island in 1980 and taught music education.  She also owned a music store. 

Anita had the Anita Carlgren American Family Insurance Agency.  She loved being a part of the Grand Island City Singers and had the privilege of performing at Carnegie Hall.  She was a member of Northridge Assembly of God, the Saddle Club and in recent years enjoyed her home in the country.  Her memory will be cherished by many.

Memorials are suggested to her church or a memorial fund will be established in her name.
