Rose Marie Paxton

Rose Marie (Little-Bierhaus) Paxton, 36, of Grand Island, died April 3, 2010 at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, at Grace Lutheran Church in Grand Island.  The Reverend Daniel Bremer will officiate.  Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Rose was born May 10, 1973 at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington D.C. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Cecil E. Paxton; parents, Dean and Patricia Bierhaus; and brothers and sister-in-law, John and Melissa Little and Tim Bierhaus, all of Grand Island.

She is also survived by aunts and uncles, Ann and Terry Ottman, Lee and Karen Bierhaus and Sheila Weiland; nieces and nephews, Zachary and Amber Utley, Kaleigh and Ben Carr, Sapphire and Anthony Burson and Nisha Guerrero; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Isabell Burson, Xavier and Harmonie Carr and Faith and Zachary, Jr. Utley; cousins; special friends, Sherri and Alex Williams, along with many other friends.

Rose was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Guerrero and her grandparents, Don and Elaine Bierhaus and Charles and Rose Bird.

Rose received her education in Grand Island.  She was baptized in the Christian Faith on May 29, 1973 at St. Bernadine’s Church in Suitland, Maryland, and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Grand Island on April 24, 1988.  She was united in marriage to Cecil Eugene Paxton on December 11, 1992 in Grand Island.  Rose was employed at Oak Grove Inn for several years, after which she stayed home to help care for her family.

She enjoyed all animals, especially horses and was an avid TV fan of Smallville, Funniest Home Videos and Extreme Makeover Home Edition.  Most of all, Rose cherished her special time with her great-niece, Isabell and her great-nephew, Xavier.
