Jean M. Peters, 94, of Grand Island, died February 3, 2010 at Wedgewood Care Center of Grand Island.
There will be no services and at Jean’s request cremation has
taken place. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.
Jean was born April 29, 1915 at Morgan, Texas the daughter of Lon and Mary (Brown) Stubblefield.
Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Gail and Mike Kathol of Kearney, Diane Donnell of Collins, Missouri and Mike and Cindy Cook of Grand Island; and two sisters, Jane Cummings and Arlene Hobbs, both of California.
She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by an infant daughter and daughter, Bobbie Freeman.
Jean grew up in Texas. While living in McCook, NE she worked for DeGroff’s Department Store. Later, she was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad as a line cook.
Her grandchildren fondly remember her canning, baking and cooking.
Jean liked bowling, traveling, fishing and trap shooting, but especially
enjoyed being a grandmother.
