Peggy Kalkowski, 81 of Grand Island, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at
St. Francis Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral
Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial of ashes will
be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the
Mrs. Kalkowski was born January 10, 1930 at Grand Island the daughter
of Clarence and Gladys (Mercer) Clark.
She was preceded in death by her husband LaVern (Babe) Kalkowski on
March 15, 2011.
Survivors of the immediate family include two sons and daughters-in-law,
Clark and Patsy Kalkowski and Karlye and Debra Kalkowski, all of Grand
Island and a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and George McHargue of Kearney.
Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Jennifer Forsberg,
Ariann Brown, Kash Kalkowski, Jess McHargue and Kya McHargue; and great-grandchildren,
Jackson Forsberg, Isabella Brown and Dylan Forsberg; brother-in-law and
his wife, Ronald and Kathy Kalkowski of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Elaine
Kalkowski of California and Jean Ann Clark of Streamwood, Ill.
In addition to her husband Babe, she was welcomed into heaven by her
parents and two brothers, Jack and Bob Clark.
Peggy was raised in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior
High, class of 1947. She was united in marriage to LaVern (Babe)
Kalkowski on August 29, 1950. They made their home in Grand Island
where she helped in the family business, Kalkowski Construction and enjoyed
being a homemaker loving and raising their three children.
She enjoyed camping, antiquing, socializing, shopping and watching
