A. Pelowski
Clayton A. Pelowski, 79 of Grand Island, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The
Reverend Charles Gregory will officiate. Burial will be in the
Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before service time.
Mr. Pelowski was born March 13, 1932 at Blanchard, ND the son of John and Helen (Workes) Pelowski.
Survivors are his wife Darlene; children and their spouses, Karen and Mike Gibson of Lingle, WY, Allen Pelowski of Norfolk, David Pelowski of Grand Island, Janet and Ryan Padron of Grand Island and Darcy and Robert Stephens of Grand Island; and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lillian Pelowski of Holdrege.
Other survivors are grandchildren, Craig, Shelley, Chris, Lavona, Josh, Devin, Timothy, Patricia, Ashley, Janice and Manuel and Robert, Jr. and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Clayton; brothers, Jerome, Vernon, John, Jr., Robert, Marvin, Dennis and Bill and sister, Shirley.
Clayton was raised on a family farm in North Dakota. Following high school he served in the U.S. Navy. On September 3, 1953 he was united in marriage to Darlene Shelton. They made their home in Grand Island where Clayton worked for the City of Grand Island and then Nebraska Department of Roads.
He enjoyed woodworking and was an outstanding crafter having made many
clocks, benches and medicine cabinets. He planted many trees and
collected antiques and enjoyed cooking and baking.
