Francis Willard Gidmond, 88 of Grand Island, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Lakeview.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan
Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Mr. Gidmond was born January 14, 1923 at Cambridge, NE the son of Gustabus and Annie (Williams) Gidmond.
His wife Pearl preceded him in death on April 7, 2008.
He is survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold Gidmond.
Francis graduated from Havana High School, Havana, Nebraska in 1942 with a graduating class of six boys. He married Pearl Campbell on January 22, 1952 in Denver, CO. He was employed as a mechanic. When he and Pearl moved back to Grand Island, he worked for Nebraska Peterbilt until his retirement.
Following his retirement he worked for Motel 8 for several years. He
and Pearl volunteered for the Community Supplement Food Program.
