Hansen
Nora Hansen, 92 of Grand Island died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at home
with her family by her side.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Gollaher Chapel of Trinity United
Methodist Church. The Reverend Jay Vetter will officiate. Burial
will be in the Kelso Cemetery near Farwell at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hansen was born June 2, 1919 at Rockville, NE the daughter of
Soren and Emma Sorensen.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Hansen on August 23,
2002.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Koann Hansen of Grand
Island, Danielle and Loren Bangs of Doniphan, Harry and Darla Hansen
of Grand Island and Dr. Larry and Carol Hansen of Grand Island.
Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Krisha Goering,
Heather Hansen Stites, Angela Bangs Schneider, Brian Bangs, Bradley Bangs
and wife Jennifer, Audra Hansen, Gabriel Hansen and fiancé Kristin
Brady and Tess Hansen; great-grandchildren, Matt Goering, Thaddeus Schneider,
Hildi Schneider, Johnathan Bangs, Jacob Bangs, Allison Bangs and Olivia
Bangs.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents;
an infant son and two brothers, Willie “Bill” Sorensen and
Arthur Sorensen and sister, Rose Jakob.
Nora was raised on a farm near Rockville. She received her education
at Souleville Elementary and graduated from Rockville High School, class
of 1936.
On January 27, 1943 she was united in marriage to Raymond C. Hansen
at Rockville. The couple farmed northeast of Rockville until 1953
when they moved to Grand Island.
She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist
Women. She was very active in her church. Nora’s passion
was her family. She enjoyed attending all her grandkid’s
activities.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church, St. Francis
Hospice or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
