Margaret M. Hardekopf
Private family services will be held at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. To honor Mrs. Hardekopf’s wishes cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in the Cedarview Cemetery near Doniphan.
Mrs. Hardekopf was born February 18, 1923 in Hall County the daughter of LeRoy and Leona (Cox) Gregg.
Survivors are her children and their spouses, Peg and Jim Stulken of Doniphan, Patricia and Dan Rainforth of Doniphan and Stan and Jana Pokorney of Charlotte, North Carolina and sister, Arlene Nelson of Grand Island.
Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Victoria Larson, Kevin Rainforth, Brent Rainforth, Jill Osler, Troy Rainforth, and Scott Pokorney, Megan Brancato and Ben Pokorney and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her son, Steve Pokorney; grandson, Brad Stulken; sister, Meredith White and husbands, Joe Pokorney, Bill Wicht and Bill Hardekopf preceded her in death.
Margaret was raised in Hall County and graduated from Trumbull High School. She attended Kearney State College.
Margaret lived in Doniphan for 40 years moving to Grand Island in 1968. Taking care of her home and family was her passion. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating, dancing and music. In addition to being a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend she worked as a secretary-bookkeeper for many years. She spent the past year at Bickford Cottage.
A memorial fund will be established in Margaret’s memory.
