Virginia K. Jones, 68 of Lincoln, died Thursday, February 02, 2012
at the Tabitha Journey House.
Celebration of Life Service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Roper and Sons
Chapel. Her son-in-law Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Family burial will
be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family will be greeting friends form 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.
Mrs. Jones was born November 20, 1943 at Ainsworth, NE.
Survivors are her husband of 51 years, Richard, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law,
Korinna and Daniel Naranjo of Grand Island; son and daughter-in-law,
Richard, Jr. and Karin Jones of Grinnell, IA; her loving grandchildren,
Kaytlyn and Dylan Naranjo, Makayla Jones and Ashley Watts and great-granddaughter,
Cheyenne; step-father, Guy Shore of Lincoln, sister and brother-in-law,
Linda and Dave Schwink of Lincoln; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank
Shore of Wisconsin, Dusty and Dee Shore of Douglas, NE and Troy and Bonnie
Shore of Lincoln.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Vivian and a brother, Sonny
Shore.
Virginia was raised and received her education in Lincoln attending
Whittier Junior High and Lincoln High Schools. She was united in marriage
to Richard B. Jones on October 21, 1960 at Logan, IA. They made their
home in Lincoln where Virginia worked for Sears, Russell Stovers, K-Ray
Pharmacy in Belmont and was the ‘Lunch Lady’ at Goodrich
Junior High and Belmont Elementary.
Virginia enjoyed camping with her family, crocheting, the one arm bandits,
cards, puzzles, going to garage sales, dancing and was the unofficial
family champ at Scrabble. She loved the outdoors, spending time
gardening, feeding the critters and partying on the patio. Virginia cherished
her family. She has left a lasting legacy of caring for others and her
memory will be treasured by many.
