Norma M. Staab

Norma M. Staab, 88 of Grand Island died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Tiffany Square Center.

Norma M. StaabServices will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Evangelical Free Church.  Reverend Gary Schulte will officiate.  To honor Mrs. Staab’s request cremation has taken place.  Burial of ashes will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.  All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Mrs. Staab was born September 27, 1923 at Mason City, NE the daughter of Charles and Petra (Lauridsen) Mohr.

Her husband Glenn Staab preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors are children and their spouses, Eldon and Ann Staab of Centennial, CO, Jean and Gaylord Jensen of St. Libory and Charles and Lana Staab of Grand Island.

Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Tony and Melissa Staab, Nick and Jeannette Staab, Tammie and Tony Berck, JoDee and Todd Hubbard, Greg and Rebecca Raymond and Jeff and Jeanette Raymond and 12 great-grandchildren and special friend, Erm Hiser of Grand Island.

Norma was raised on a farm near Mason City graduating from Mason City High School.  She taught elementary school from 1941-1943.  On March 29, 1943 she was united in marriage to Glenn Staab.  They lived in Ansley and Berwyn area farming until 1959.  They moved to Broken Bow where Norma worked at the Bakery and Universal Insurance Agency until 1976.  They moved to Grand Island where she worked until her retirement at Rich and Sons Camper Sales.

She attended the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Island.  Some of her enjoyments were camping, reading, sewing, going to coffee at Skagway north and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Evangelical Free Church, Hope Harbor or the Crisis Center.
