'Beth' Elizabeth Obermiller Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

‘Beth’ Obermiller, 76 Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Elaine Obermiller, 76 of Grand Island peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 with her loving daughters by her side. Service and celebration of Beth’s life will be 2 PM Tuesday, June 21st in the Sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church. Reverend Ray Stone will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designations. Beth was born on April 22, 1946 in Kearney, the daughter of LeRoy ‘Pete’ and Betty Elaine (Riley) Moffett. She graduated from Shelton High School class of 1964. On August 16, 1969 she was united in marriage to James A. Obermiller. They are proud parents of Darrin, Jama and Anne. Beth started her career working for the Social Security Administration Office before becoming a stay-at-home mother. After her three children were raised, she worked for the County Assessor’s Office, retiring in 2010. Beth has been a member of the Gabby Group Extension Club for over 40 years. She loved her once a month gathering, ‘gabbing’ with her lifelong friends. She spent her free time playing cards in various card clubs and truly cherished her time spent at the lake-house with her family. She also enjoyed attending all of her grandkid’s events. She was a member of First Faith United Methodist Church and the Platte Deutsche Women’s society. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dr. Jama Obermiller-Miller (Adam Miller) and Anne (Joshua) Kraus all of Grand Island; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Frey of Albion; six grandchildren, Emery, Austin, Barret, Cutler, Addison and Alayna. Other survivors include her in-laws, Larry (Arlene) Obermiller, Vange, Mary, BettyLou and Vicki Obermiller, Shirley Stutzman, Cathi Lewis and Connie (Darrel) Anderson. She is also survived by her ‘adopted’ son, Chad (Tanya) Scheer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim on August 15, 2019; son, Darrin Obermiller, brother, Mike Diercks; her parents and in-laws, Gaylord, Delvin, Paul, Donald (Doris), Harold (Bonnie, Shirley) and Emil Obermiller, Darlene (Gerald) Eilenstine and Larry Stutzman.
