Jill Ann Meyer

February 2, 1952 - November 30, 2021

Jill Ann Meyer of Archer, passed away on November 30th at Grand Island Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, December 6th at Zion Methodist Church in Archer, NE. Pastor Gordon Paulsen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Sunday, also at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service in Archer Evangelical Community Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Jill was born on February 2, 1952 to Dr. William and Marjorie (Reynolds) Houfek in Lexington, NE. The family lived in various towns around Nebraska before settling in Genoa when Jill was in third grade. That is where Jill met her lifelong friend Margaret Cuddeford. She graduated from Genoa High School in 1970 and from Central Community College in 1972. Jill later earned her Certified Nursing Aid and was employed by several local nursing homes. She enjoyed working at the Genoa Library but first and foremost she loved being a mom. Jill married Dave Meyer on December 19, 1992, and together they lived north of Grand Island before moving to Archer in 2003. Jill was a member of Archer Zion Methodist Church. Jill had a lifelong love of gardening as well as doll collecting. She loved spending time with her family and she never met a stranger, she was friends with everyone. She was very proud to be Godmother to Meagan and Jesse Meyer. Jill is survived by her husband, Dave; sons, Steve Hardesty and Ben Hardesty, both of Lincoln; two grandsons, William Hardesty and Samuel Hardesty of Lincoln; mother-in-law, Irene Meyer of St. Libory; brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Julie Houfek of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Neal Christensen of Rigby, ID; nephew Alan Christensen; niece, Kelly Christensen; and many other family members too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Harvey Meyer; uncle, James Reynolds; and friend, Margaret.
