Robert “Bob” Dubas, 71, of Grand Island passed away following a short illness with pancreatic cancer on January 31, 2022. Celebration of life gathering will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Friday, February 4. Fr. Don Buhrman will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the United Veteran’s Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Robert Dale Dubas was born October 13, 1950 in St. Paul, Nebraska to Leo and Minnie (McIntyre) Dubas. Bob grew up in Omaha, Columbus, and Fullerton. He attended Fullerton Catholic Elementary School, Fullerton High School and University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed as an air traffic controller at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri from 1970-1974. On October 10, 1970, Bob and Mona (Schutt) were married in Grand Island. They were blessed with two children. Bob made it his priority to put his family first. Any of the kids or grandkids actives were his favorite. Bob could be found at any event to show his love and support. His family was the joy of his life. Following Bob’s military service, they moved back to Grand Island where he farmed part time and worked as an air traffic controller at the Grand Island airport for the Federal Aviation Administration. Then Bob attended CCC in Hastings and earned a degree in data processing in January 1984. Bob always loved the farm-life and started farming part time in 1979. He went full time in 1980 and continued his passion until his death. Through farming, Bob made the best friends. Bob was on the Northwest School Board from 1992 until 2004. He was also a member of the Saddle Club, American Legion and YMCA. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Mona of Grand Island; his children, Keith (Heather) Dubas of Aurora, Kristin (Brian) Caspar of Grand Island; and his four grandchildren, Tyler (Claire) Dubas of Elkhorn, Dylan Dubas of Aurora and Keyara and Blake Caspar of Grand Island; his siblings, Leonard (Kathy) Dubas of Palmer, Betty (Ken) Longe of Omaha, Dale (Barbara) Dubas and Joyce Elbert of Fullerton: sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bengston of York, Marlene (Gordon) McMullen of CA, and Susan Schutt of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Minnie Dubas; infant sister Donna and brother, Timothy and brother, Mark; brothers-in -law, Marx Schutt, Pete Bengtson, and Jim Elbert.
