Robert C. Garcia Sr., 79 of Grand Island died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Thursday, October 21st at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Celebrating Mass will be Rev. Fr. V. Thomas Vijumon Choorackel. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Wednesday with a Rosary at 6 PM at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designations. Robert was born December 3, 1941 at San Antonio, Texas the son of Pedro Garcia and Maria (Contreras). He grew up in Central Nebraska. On July 3, 1965 he married Luciana Guerrero. Robert was employed by Case New Holland retiring after 33 ½ years. Luciana died in 2000. He later married Vicenta Santos on December 1, 2004. Robert loved listening to music and his greatest treasure was his family. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Vicenta Garcia; sons, Robert C. Garcia Jr. of Grand Island, Joseph (Tina) Garcia of Omaha and Sonny (Lisa) Garcia of Grand Island; daughter, Paula (Gregorio) Gomez of Columbus; stepchildren, Francisco (Karina) Santos, Javier (Melissa) Santos, Maria Lena Santos and Margarita Santos; 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 9 step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Luciana Garcia; son, Michael A. Garcia; siblings, Gilbert, Benny, George, Margarita and Joe; his mother, Maria Contreras and numerous nieces and nephews.
