Robert J. Melgoza Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert J. Melgoza, 77 of Grand Island died Friday, July 8, 2022 at CHI Health-St. Francis. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Friday, July 15th at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Celebrating Mass will be Father Joseph Broudou. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday with a Rosay at 7 PM in the chapel of All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designations. Robert was born on November 19, 1944 in Grand Island the son of Ralph and Julia (Martinez) Melgoza. He was raised and received his education in Grand Island. On September 27, 1969 he was united in marriage to Sally Munoz. Robert retired from JBS Swift following 31 years of service in 2012. His enjoyments included sports (the Huskers), music (the oldies) and spending time with family especially the grandkids. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Sally; their children, Felicia (Martin) Melgoza, Francesca ‘Frenchie’ (Chip) Melgoza, Tina Melgoza and Robert John ‘BJ’ (Julie) Melgoza; and his son Mark Wortman; grandchildren, Audie (Michaela) Alvarez, Sierra Melgoza, Erica Melgoza, Khiry Melgoza, Cheyene (Yazmin) Alvarez, Trey Melgoza, Karly Melgoza, Jaden Melgoza, Adrian Melgoza, Yuliana Alvarez, Jovanni Alvarez and Tyson Melgoza; great grandchildren, Alayna Garcia, Joaquin (Kenie) Garcia, Isabella Licon, Mason Lemburg-Alvarez, Aariyah Licon, Noelle Alvarez, Ariella Alvarez and Madison Alvarez and his siblings Josie (Roger) Scott, Teresa Fraire, Sylvia Sanchez and Louie (WeeGee) Melgoza. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Guillermo (Bill) Melgoza, Mary (Polly) Puente and Carmel (Peewee) Melgoza; niece, Anita Pinon and nephew, Scott Puente and Goddaughter, Andrea Fraire.
