Tammie R. Gunn, 61, of Grand Island passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2022 at Bergan Mercy in Omaha. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 on Monday, February 14, 2022 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Services in her honor will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Elder Jeff Hayman will officiate. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Tammie was born on September 5, 1960 in Hagerstown, MD, daughter of Leonard and Bonnie (Brewer) Carney. She moved several times growing up but found her home in Grand Island and graduated with the class of 1979. Later that year she married Russell Gunn on June 30, 1979. She was happy to put roots down in Grand Island and raise their three sons. She was employed in security with Fonner Park for 20 years. After retirement, she worked at JoAnn Fabrics. Tammie was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grand Island. Tammie enjoyed collecting bears and snowmen, and all sorts of crafts. Through her work in genealogy, Tammie was able to track her family clear back to the Vikings along with many other interesting facts. Her world was her family and friends that became family. She loved every minute she could spend with her grandkids and enjoyed her sons’ humor and conversation. Her legacy is continued by her sons, Chris Gunn and Michael (Amber Betterly) Gunn both of Grand Island; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessee, and Russel E. Gunn II; four brothers; and numerous extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Eugene Gunn l; son, Russell Edwin Gunn II.
