Antonio Gonzalez Garcia, age 56, entered eternal rest on June 1st, 2025, at his home in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. A memorial service and celebration of Antonio’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 9th, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Born on September 6, 1968, in Matamoros, Antonio was the beloved son of Guadalupe Garcia and the late Jesus Gonzalez. Tony was a man full of creativity and heart. In his younger days, he had a deep love for playing soccer and carried a lifelong passion for drawing, often using his artistic talents to express himself. More than anything, he cherished time with his family — being surrounded by loved ones brought him his greatest joy. Tony shared 29 years of his life with Corazon Cante, with whom he raised five beloved children. Though their paths later separated, Corazon remains a meaningful part of his story and joins their children in honoring his memory. Tony was known for his sense of humor — he was a funny man who always had a story to tell, and those stories often had everyone laughing until their sides hurt. He also had a famously short fuse — he could get mad over just about anything, like someone chewing gum or breathing too loud — but that was just part of his charm. And if you ever tried to change him? Good luck! Tony was unapologetically himself — stubborn as a mule, set in his ways, and proud of it. He wasn’t trying to be anyone else, and honestly, we wouldn’t have wanted him any other way. His fire, just like his laughter, was part of what made him unforgettable. No matter the distance, Tony always found his way back to his family. Being with his loved ones was where he felt most at home — because to him, family wasn’t just important, it was everything. His devotion to his loved ones never wavered, and his presence brought comfort and unity wherever he was. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Gonzalez; his son, Jose Antonio Gonzalez; two grandchildren, Jayden and Ezekiel; his grandmother, Maria Luisa Garcia; aunt, Isabela Garcia , and uncle Melchor Garcia. He is survived by his loving mother, Guadalupe Garcia; his children, Cristina, Judith, Abraham, and Carmen; his siblings, Sol Garcia, Juan Garcia, Francis Gonzalez, Alma Lewandowski, Jorge Gonzalez, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, and Jessica Campos; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He will be especially missed by those in Grand Island, Nebraska, where many of his loved ones reside. Tony’s memory will forever live in the hearts of those he touched. His laughter, his love for family, and his artistic soul will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank all who have reached out with support and love during this difficult time. With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to the man who gave us laughter, lessons, and love. We will carry you with us always, Tony. — With love, your family
