Barbara Jean Adams

Barbara Jean Adams, 84, of Grand Island passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 212 West 22nd Street, Grand Island. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 also at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at Grand Island City Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Barbara was born on July 15, 1942, in Cairo, NE, daughter of Louie and Victoria (Krolikowski) Grudzinski. She grew up on the family farm near Cairo and in 1960 she graduated from Grand Island Central Catholic. On August 31, 1963, she married the love of her life, Larry Adams, and later had their marriage sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, UT Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They made their home in Grand Island. While raising their five sons, Barbara and Larry made memories travelling, especially trips to Wisconsin and Lincoln, NE for family events and gatherings. She loved quilt making and tending her large gardens and landscaping projects. She enjoyed having fun, often cracking jokes with emergency personnel during ambulance rides and friends who would visit her. She loved life and having fun, enriching the lives of all those she met. Barbara brought her cheerful, bubbly personality to her work at both the North Skagway and Allen’s department stores as well as the Sears Service Department. As a faithful and devoted member of her faith, she served in various leadership callings, as a teacher, and in other voluntary capacities; yet she was especially known for her selfless service to others both inside and outside of her church. Her memory is cherished by her sons, Joseph Adams of Grand Island, Christopher (Eppie) Adams of Evanston, WY, David (Yvonne) Adams of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jay Adams of Omaha, and Jared (Val) Adams of Seward; her brother LeRoy Grudzinski of Kerrville, TX, sister-in-law Shirley Grudzinski of Grand Island, brother-in-law Bill (Trudy) Adams of Lincoln; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, in 2017; parents; brother, Edwin and his wife Delores; infant brother, Eugene; sister, Louise Will and her husband Elvin; brother George Grudzinski and his wives Dianne and Catherine; brother Rich Grudzinski; sister-in-law, Sandra Grudzinski, and nephew Eugene Grudzinski. Her family wishes to express their deep gratitude for all those who provided care during her remaining years, including the staff at Eventide of Prairie Commons.
