Carole R Stutzman

Carole R. Stutzman, 64, of Grand Island, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 8, 2026, at CHI Health St. Francis. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 13th at 10:30 am at Third City Christian Church, with burial immediately following the service at the Wiegert Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 12th, from 5-7 pm at All Faiths Funeral Home. Carole was born on May 18, 1961, in St. Paul, to Owen ‘Curly’ and Carla Ann (Teichmeier) Dethlefs. She was raised on the family farm outside of Wood River and graduated from Wood River High School in 1979. She then went on to attend Kearney State College for one year before finishing her degree in Radiology Technology in Hastings. On April 28, 1984, Carole was united in marriage to Daniel Stutzman. Two children were born into this union. Carole enjoyed being an X-ray tech at the Grand Island Clinic and then the mammography lady at St Francis and the Imaging Center for many years. After her health started to decline, she worked part-time in retail before becoming a para-educator for Head Start. Carole never met a stranger. She would talk anyone’s ear off and had a love for helping people. No matter what job she worked, she took pride in knowing she was able to help. In her spare time, Carole loved to spend time with her grandboys. She could often be found “making” board games or playing any game the boys conned her into. She also liked to craft, read, and play cards. She loved watching game shows. Carole was never too far from a Diet Coke. Carole’s core foundation was her faith. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dan; children, Quentin Stutzman, Niki (Artie) Moeller; three grandchildren, Kyson, Krew, and Hailie; siblings, Gayle (Gene) Krejci, Pearl (Rod) Johnson, Larry (Betty) Dethlefs, Sue (Steve) Johnson, Randy Dethlefs; siblings-in-law, Kevin (Karla) Stutzman, Joan (Dave) Coleman, Julie Stutzman, and Kathy (Bill) Thornton. Carole was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dan; parents-in-law, Dean and Rose; an infant son, Jacob; and many beloved dogs. Memorials are suggested either to Third City Christian Church or to the family for later designation.
