Donna Belle Mason Donna Mason, 90 of Grand Island died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Tiffany Square Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church, 2400 W. 14th St., Grand Island. Visitation will be an hour before service time. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ansley Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family. Donna was born June 2, 1926 at Colon, NE the daughter of Edmund and Edith (Rhodes) King. She grew up and attended school at Happy Hollow and Ansley in Custer County. She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday with all of her family, a total of 22 and also celebrated with her dear and cherished friends at church. Donna Belle was united in marriage to Maynard Mason in Broken Bow on December 22, 1943. Maynard and Donna farmed and ranched in the Cumro area until moving to Grand Island in 1960. After moving to Grand Island Donna worked at Sears for over 30 years. She kept busy after retirement attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities. She was known by the nickname “Grandma Honey.” She always looked forward to spending time with her family, the first grade class at Howard Elementary and playing cards with friends at Riverside Lodge and at Tiffany Square. Donna was a member of First Christian Church for over 50 years. She was involved in Circle and always willing to help out with whatever was needed. Also, she belonged to Sears Retiree Club. Survivors include her children, Linda (John) Price of Grand Island and Steve (Cindy) Mason of Grand Island; grandchildren, Todd (Amy) Price of Grand Island, Tara Helms of Lincoln, Abby (Zack) Bjornsen of Omaha and Cory Mason of Denver; great-grandchildren, Hannah Price, Emma Price, Hayden Price, Owen Price, Alex Agostine, Kaylie Agostine, Maggie Helms, Willow Bjornsen and Hattie Bjornsen and sister, Roma (Oscar) Lundquist and sister-in-law, Jesselyn Mason and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Maynard who died in August 2009; infant daughter, Patricia Ann Mason and son, Terry Dean Mason; her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Doyle) Garwood; brother-in-law, Lloyd Mason and sister-in-law, Marvelle Hawkins. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church.
