Doreen Dea Anderson

Doreen Dea Anderson, age 66, of Grand Island, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 1, 2026. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 7th at 10:30am at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Carl Eliason officiating. The service will be livestreamed on Facebook at Peace Lutheran Celebration of Life-Grand Island for anyone that is unable to attend. Burial will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6th from 5-7pm at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com. Doreen was born on May 31, 1960, in Grand Island to Harry and Leanna (Elshof) Husman. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1978. On October 25, 1980, she was united in marriage to Jim Rathje and to this union they were blessed with their daughter, Dani. Doreen was a store manager at Lerner’s Departments store and then held a few jobs in between starting her career with Wells Fargo. She was a personal banker for 20 years before her retirement. Doreen enjoyed making felt Christmas ornaments, painting and scrapbooking. She took great pride in keeping her truck in pristine condition, which included weekly washing. Doreen had a wonderful sense of humor that kept everyone around her laughing and could make any simple moment an instant memory. She had an inviting and caring heart that made everyone feel like family and was mom to many more than just Dani. Her commitment to caring for her community carried over into her dedication with Habitat for Humanity. Doreen and Dani had many wonderful shopping trips together over the years. She liked to travel and to see new places with her family. Above all else she loved her family, grandchildren and friends and cherished the time with them. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Dani Jo (Brad) Studley; grandchildren, Braylon, Brynnley, Bryleigh and Brexlyn Studley; sisters, Shari Martin (Charles Stewart) and Reggie (Dan) Steckmyer; nephew, Aaron (Jordan) Martin; niece, Brooke (Michael) Belt; great nieces and nephew, Sophia and Asher Belt; sisters at heart, Janelle (Ellis) Collins and Carol Olson; former spouse, Jim (Nancy) Rathje and their daughters, Alycia (Tim) Robertson and Lyndsay (Dana) Zentner and numerous other relatives and friends. Doreen was preceded in death by her parents and brother in-law, Buddy Martin.
