Doris M. Clark, 95 of Grand Island went home to her Savior Thursday, June 02, 2016 at CHI Health St. Francis. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Reverend Jack Gillam will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Doris was born on March 13, 1921 at Sioux Falls, SD the daughter of William F. and Dorathea A. (Gloe) Scheffel. Survivors include her son, David (Vicki) Hartmann of Juniata; step children, Sherry (Gary) Ramig of Fremont and Bill (Robin) Clark of Loup City; her grandchildren, Shawn (Elizabeth) Hartmann, Wm. Brandon (Krista) Hartmann, and Dr. Erica Hartmann (Alex Toro), Dr. Molly Hartmann (Dr. Dimitrios Miserlis); step grandchildren, Tracy Ramig, Jeff Ramig, Lori (Chet) Dawes, John (Kim) Clark, Gina (Matt) Stoltenberg and Scott Dice; several great grandchildren; brother, William (Mary) Scheffel of San Diego; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Gayle Francl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale R. Clark; her son, Robert Hartmann; her parents, step mother, Iva Schmersal; infant sister, Arlene; sister and brother-in-law, Roberta (Harold) Schroeder and brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Viola Scheffel. Doris was raised and received her education in Grand Island attending Jefferson, Trinity Lutheran, Walnut and graduating from Grand Island Senior High. She was united in marriage to Howard E. Hartmann on January 2, 1944. She then married Charles Hald in 1955 and Stanley Sears on January 1, 1965. Mr. Sears died on July 5, 1975. On August 27, 1977 she married Dale R. Clark. Doris was employed by North Western Telephone Company, the Ordnance Plant, and with the VA Medical Centers in Houston, TX, Seattle, WA and Grand Island for 21 years retiring in 1978. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, L.W.M.L. and volunteered at the Red Cross and Lutheran Hospital. Some of her enjoyments were cooking, sewing, needlepoint and spending time with her family and friends. Memorials are designated to Trinity Lutheran Church or School or Heartland Lutheran High School.
