Dorothy L. Enck

Dorothy L. Enck 93, of Grand Island died Monday, February 26, 2024 at Tabitha at Prairie Commons. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 5th at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Livestreaming will be available at www.giallfaiths.com Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Stuhr Museum. Dorothy was born on June 23, 1930 in Texarkana, Arkansas the daughter of James and Ruby (Knod) Haile. She was raised in Grand Island, graduating from GISH class of 1948. On June 17, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Darrell Enck. This union was blessed with children, Thomas, Tim, Terry, Tracy, Tedd, and Todd. Dorothy and her husband were charter stock holding members for Hall County Livestock Improvement/Fonner Park. They sold racing forms and programs from the beginning of Fonner for many years until they sold their business in 1982. Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed going with her husband and selling at the track during racing season, which was a very important part of her life. Raising six children, she became a talented seamstress and an avid reader. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile. Dorothy enjoyed playing video poker on her many trips to the casino, including during the last weeks of her life. Dorothy’s greatest joy was her family and spending time together at their home on Johnson Lake. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Thomas (Patricia) Enck of Grand Island, Tim Enck of Grand Island, Terry (Janet) Enck of Grand Island, Tracy (Scott) Moser of Juniata, Tedd Enck (Carol Nunnally) of Lincoln and Todd (Kelly) Enck of Grand Island; grandchildren, Stephanie (Adam) Steinhardt, Tara (Michael) Witte, Michelle Fitzgibbon, Ryan Enck (Jamie Bell), Tamra (Isaiah) Nielson, Jon Enck, Stacie (Brett) Forsman, Travis Enck and Madison Enck; great grandchildren, Jacob, Preston, Hayden, Asher, Hadley, Graham, Hudson, Emersyn, Tyler, Mason, Ben, Megan, Blake, and Zandyr. Other survivors are her sister, Joyce Petersen of Craig, CO and sister-in-law, brother-in-law, Sondra and LeRoy Fletcher of Marietta, Georgia and sister-in-law, Gail Haile of Ft. Collins, CO. She is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell who died July 21, 2000; her parents; granddaughter, Morgan Enck and her siblings, James Haile, Joni Haile and Jack Haile.
