Drue R. Gellatly

Drue R. Gellatly 80, of rural Doniphan, died peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be at 1 PM Thursday, January 18th at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in the Wolbach Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and United Veterans Honor Guard. Family will be greeting friends an hour before service time. Memorials are suggested to the family to be determined later. Drue was born on February 11, 1943 in Bend, Oregon the son of Ezra and Beth (Zehr) Gellatly. He received his education at Stockholm, Aurora High School, and then Kearney State College. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War where he received a bronze star and the Army Commendation medal. He was honorably discharged on January 25, 1968. On May 31, 1969 he was united in marriage to Minnie Rother at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. This union was blessed with children, William, Sean, Travis and Farra. They lived in Grand Island, Wolbach and later Doniphan. Drue was employed by Farm Bureau and People’s State Bank of Wolbach retiring after 30 years of service. Some of his enjoyments included fishing, Duke and Creighton Basketball and was a Husker fan. He was a member of Doniphan American Legion, NRA, Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Minnie; children, William (Lunden) Gellatly, Sean (Jackie) Gellatly, Travis (Renae) Gellatly and Farra Gellatly; grandchildren, Jacob, Evan, Raegan, Hannah, Dax, Cooper, Landen and Ava. Other survivors are his sisters-in-law, Betty Ondracek, Donna (Joe) Dugan, Patti (Mike) Applegate, Kathy Hancock Rother, Mary Racicky, Cheryl (Richard) Martinsen; brothers-in-law, Thomas Rother, Roland (Julie) Rother, Henry Rother, Bob (Rhonda) Rother, Ted Rother, Mike (Cindy) Rother, Stan (Patricia) Rother, Charles (Katrina) Rother and Sandy Rother. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Douglas and Judy Rother, Edward Rother, Johnny and Charlene Hart Rother and their son Dustin Rother, Bob Ondracek, Dan Hellbusch and sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Rother and parents-in-law, Henry and Ethel Rother.
