Eugene Oliver White

Eugene “Gene” Oliver White, 91, of Grand Island, passed away at his home on Monday, July 6, 2026. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10th, at All Faiths Funeral Home. There is a visitation from 1:00 until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service in North Loup Hillside Cemetery. Gene was born December 14, 1934, in Scotia, NE, to Randal and Ethel (Slaby) White. He grew up on the family farm in Scotia. He graduated from North Loup High School and attended college in Chicago, IL. On September 23, 1956, Gene married Mary Ann Drawbridge, his high school sweetheart, in Scotia. The couple lived on a farm north of Scotia, before moving to a farm northwest of North Loup. Gene worked at a cattle feeder in Minden for a couple of years, then farmed for 11 years southwest of North Loup. In 1966 the couple moved to Grand Island and Gene went to work for Sperry New Holland. He retired from New Holland after 26 ½ years. In 1993 Gene started at St. Frances as a ground’s keeper. He retired after 18 years. Gene was a car enthusiast and had several awards from various shows. He was known as Mr. Studebaker and the Studebaker was his favorite automobile. Those who cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 70 years, Mary Ann; daughters, Debbie (Brian) Morse and Elizabeth White (Scott); sister, Thelma Zabloudil; brother, Larry (Karen) White; brother-in-law, Charles (Sarah) Drawbridge; granddaughters, Nicole (Gonzo) Ramirez, Andrea (Josh) Bacon and Amber (Kyle) Meyer; step granddaughters, Nicole (Doug) Weber, Kristal Smith and Melissa (James) Paxton; He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Treston Ramirez, MaKena Ramirez and friend, Quentin, Briana (Caden) Sexton, Olivia Ramirez, Kalyb and Kayla Bacon, and Ezekial and Luka Meyer, great-great grandson, Vicente Kappelmann; step great grandchildren, Juliance Huprich, Aiden Sayles, Kaleigh Betancourt, Aliyah Smith, Aviana Rose Salonia, Sydney Dawson, Talyr Paxton; and great-great step grandchildren, Layken Welch, Jarud, Jesse and Josie. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ron White; great grandson, Kobe Meyer; brother, Allen White; sisters and their spouses, Doris and Gene Psota, Phyllis Rockefeller and Donna and Bill O’Donnell; and brother-in-law, Don Zabloudil.
