Gary Lee Beckstrom

Gary Lee Beckstrom, 73, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, daughters and granddaughter on July 4, 2026. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Dan Naranjo to officiate. Both will be held at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Gary was born on September 27, 1952, in Kimball, Nebraska, to Eldon and Geil (Courter) Beckstrom. He built a life centered on family, hard work, and kindness. On September 14, 1975, Gary married the love of his life, Debra (Collamore) Beckstrom. Together they shared a lifetime of memories and raised a loving family. Gary dedicated 25 years of service to the United States Postal Service. Following a stroke in 2000, he retired, but his love for his family and the simple joys of life remained at the heart of everything he did. Gary had a special place in his heart for animals and over the years welcomed many beloved pets into his home, including dogs, cats, turtles, and birds. He found great happiness in caring for them, and his faithful four-legged companion, Chloe, held a special place in his heart. Above all else, Gary treasured his family. He was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. While he was known by many names throughout his life, his favorite title was simply “Grandpa Gary.” Whether cheering on his grandchildren, sharing stories, or spending time together, he made each of them feel deeply loved. Gary is lovingly remembered by his wife, Debra Beckstrom; his children, Chad Beckstrom, Cristy (Justin) Lawver, and Ashley (Jeremy) Stahla; his grandchildren, Daemonn (Bailey) Lawver, Sgt. Draytonn Lawver, Dawsonn Lawver, Daylynn Lawver, and Braxton Stahla; his great-grandchildren, Henry and Hazel Lawver; and his brothers, Tony (Joanie) Beckstrom, Rick (Dianne) Beckstrom, and Scott Beckstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Geil Beckstrom; many extended family members; and his beloved four-legged friend, Chloe Jade. Gary will be remembered for his gentle heart, his unwavering love for his family, his compassion for animals, and the pride he took in being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
