Glenda Sue Kahler

Glenda Kahler (Leetch) a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter to the lives of those around her, passed away on December 23rd, 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable moments, creating a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. A celebration of Glenda's life will be held Friday, January 19, at 10:30 at All Faiths Funeral Home with Daniel Naranjo officiating. There is a gathering of family and friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, January 18. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Grand Island Little Theater in Glenda’s honor. Born to Ken & Jalaine (Kugler) Leetch, in Seward, Nebraska on October 10, 1957, Glenda was raised in a family that cherished the bonds of kinship. She graduated from GISH in 1976 and then graduated from Kearney State College in 1981. Glenda owned and operated Grow, Learn & Play Childcare, and spent almost 20 years loving the families of Grand Island, making memories with the kids and the beloved staff there. She was proud to serve as the Downtown Development Director for the Downtown Improvement Board. She also loved her time as the Executive Director at the Grand Island Little Theater. She was also devoted to the family business, Ken’s Appliance, and worked there throughout the years. Glenda's life was a celebration of the things she held dear – family, friends, music, thrifting, antiques, gardening, entertaining, and theater. Her passion for life and having fun was contagious, and she had a remarkable ability to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Whether hosting lively gatherings, dancing around the kitchen, or attending theatrical performances, (she saw Les Misérables over 15 times!) Glenda's zest for life was evident in everything she did. At the center of her heart was her life partner, Mike Davis, who shared in her adventures and brought an added dimension of love to her life. In the past few years, they enjoyed traveling to Texas, New Orleans, California, Oregon, Florida and many more states and stops on various road trips and a capstone month long trip to Ireland together. Glenda's devotion to her children, Ian Kahler and Meridith and Telema Harry was unwavering. She took great pride in watching them grow, providing a nurturing environment filled with love and encouragement. She loved Mike’s kids and grandkids, Sarah, Dustin and Ronin Hurlburt, Rory, Kelly and Zech Davis, and Hannah Davis and Austin Hill. Glenda's joy reached new heights with the arrival of her granddaughter, Paislee Turner, who became the apple of her eye. Their bond was one of pure love, and Glenda took delight in sharing life's wonders with her cherished granddaughter. In the tapestry of Glenda's life, her family played a central role. She is also survived by her brother, Gail Leetch, and her mother, Jalaine Leetch (of Bartlett, NE), who shared in the grief of losing a beloved daughter and sister. Their hearts now bear the weight of sorrow, but also the enduring love Glenda showered upon them. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Ken (of Crawford, NE), as well as many aunts and uncles who shaped her upbringing with love, fun, and wisdom. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, let us remember Glenda for the laughter she brought, the music that resonated in her soul, and the love that she generously shared with those around her. In honoring her memory, let us strive to embody the joyous spirit and zest for life that defined Glenda.
