Jerry Dee Case

Jerry Dee Case, known affectionately as Casey to many, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 87. Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11:00 am, at All Faiths Funeral Home, 2929 South Locust, Grand Island. Memorials suggested to Grand Island YMCA, 221 E South Front St., Grand Island, NE 68801. Jerry was born in Grand Island, NE on February 20, 1937, to George and Vera (Bolen) Case. In his younger years he traveled extensively with his parents until settling in Grand Island. Jerry graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1955 and attended Doane College in Crete, NE his freshman year. He then joined the Army and served for two years in Korea before completing his college degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jerry was employed at Cornhusker Army Ammunition and Chief Industries as an accountant. He then spent the remaining years employed with Case New Holland until his retirement. On November 18, 1967, Jerry was united in marriage to Judy Kenyon of Grand Island. Together, they built a home where they raised their children, Jeff and Julie. Jerry had many passions. He loved to stay active and enjoyed golf, bowling, shuffleboard, and working out at the YMCA, spending too much time in the hot tub or sauna. Jerry’s passion for fishing was passed down to his kids and grandkids and they will always remember the times spent fishing with him. Jerry loved sharing his garden with all and weekends were often spent in the kitchen with his wife Judy listening to Big Joe’s Polka Show and canning tomatoes, pickles, and corn. Jerry was a lifetime fan of Huskers sports and the Kansas City Royals, but his greatest source of pride came from watching his grandchildren excel in their own sports of choice. Whether it was soccer, basketball, or baseball, Jerry was always their biggest fan and loved supporting them. Survivors include his daughter, Julie Klein and husband Scott Klein; and grandson, Tanner Klein all of Roca, NE; daughter-in -law, Bridget Case; granddaughter, Abigail Case and grandson, Andrew Case all of Jackson, WI; nephew, Byron Pachske and wife Nancy Pachske of Aurora, NE; sister-in-law, Jan Brauer and husband, George Brauer of Hutchinson, KS; brother-in-law, Jerry Kenyon and wife, Dianne Kenyon of Grand Island, NE; and nieces, Jaci, Jodi, Jeni and nephew, Jarod. Jerry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Case; son, Jeffrey Lee Case; his parents, George and Vera Case; brother, Horton “Sunny” Wadkins; and parents-in-law, Delbert and Wilma Kenyon.
