Jerry M. Pierce II

Jerry M. Pierce II, 56 of Grand Island, told his last joke on this earth on January 14, 2017 at Nebraska Heart Hospital, with his family by his side. A sharing of tall tales and Miller drinking will be held in his memory on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Infinity Lounge in the Boarders Inn from 2 to 7 p.m. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family. Jerry was born on January 20, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany, army brat of Jerry and Shirley Ann (Shelby) Pierce I. Left to carry on his humor and legacy include his wife Tami; sons, Tyler Pierce (Nate Panowicz), Jory Pierce (Kiyah Guest) all of Grand Island, and Joshua “Tree” Brown of Omaha; mother, Shirley Ann of Grand Island; brother, Randy (Wanda) Pierce of Tom Bean, TX; sister, Kim Jones of Sherman, TX; five brothers-in-law and spouses; granddog, Moose; along with numerous friends, family, and nurses. He is greeted in heaven by his beloved four legged companions, Thor and Fiona, his father and mother- in-law, John and Joan Williams, and his father. Jerry has his upbringing and Texas education to thank for his well known southern drawl. He graduated from Lewisville, TX High School in 1978 and promptly enlisted in the Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk, earning the rank of Shellback. He was discharged under honorable conditions in 1982. On October 26, 1985 he married Tami Williams in Boyd, TX, where they lived until deciding to move closer to her family and moved to Alda in 1988. Jerry enjoyed the open road as well as all of the people he met while driving truck for Sunrise. He then joined his wife and her family in the escort business, he helped many truckers safely travel and made sure they were well taken care of. When Jerry was around there was never a dull moment and always a place at his table for anyone in need. He was a well known joker and herbalist. He spoke his mind, and gave advice whether needed or not. As an easy going southern gentleman, Jerry accepted anyone who came through the door. In his spare time he perfected the art of playing Candy Crush and Pudding Pop. He liked his food spicy, or if he made it, smoked. Jerry loved the simple joys in life, Miller beer and good company. Jerry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to his LVAD coordinators, Rachel Smith, Kelly Stutzman, Dr. Damle and Dr. Mentzer for their continued support. Also thank you to all the nurses and staff at Nebraska Hearth Hospital. Jerry’s family would like to designate memorials to the Nebraska Heart Hospital to help future patients.
