Joseph "Taco" Soto

Joseph “Taco” Soto, 51 of Alda passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at CHI-Health St. Francis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wood River. Fr. Jorge Canela will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, April 22, 2016 at All Faiths Funeral Home, rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family. Joe was born on December 28, 1964 in Grand Island, son of Robert and Linda (Davis) Soto. Joe was raised and received his education in Wood River, graduating with the class of 1983. He worked for A &G Pipe for 10 years, then Mike Hieb Construction, Fisher Construction, Reimers Construction and Terjak Construction over the next years doing concrete construction. Recently he found his true passion in a job as a fork lift operator for Malace Int. at CNH and Lacosta Support Services at CNH. He loved his job as well as all of his coworkers. His true passion in life was riding his motorcycles. As president of Road Rage Motorcycle Club he enjoyed being a part of Charity Poker Runs, especially when it was to benefit children. Joe was also young at heart and enjoyed driving remote control cars. On December 3, 2011 he was united in marriage to Rain Webster, with this union he gained seven step children and nine step grandchildren, whom he loved as his own. Joe was one of a kind; he loved the open road and cherished time spent with his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Leslie “Rain” (Webster) Soto of Alda; parents, Robert and Linda (Davis) Soto of Wood River; children, Valerie Woodard of TX, Joe Jr. (Fiancée Chantelle Sack)of Alda, and Cheyenne Dockett of Hastings; stepchildren, Kenneth (Buddy) Sherrill, Athena Reed, Celena Vanderlinde, and Serena Pack all of Kansas, Kerwin Sherrill, Kristian Sherrill and Klinton Sherrill all of Grand Island; brothers, Paul (Cindy) Soto of Wood River, Robert Jr. (Marie) Soto of Wood River; sisters, Tina Soto of Phoenix, AZ, and Melissa (Tony) Patterson of Omaha; five grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rosario and Jesus Soto; maternal grandparents, Otis and Dorothy Davis; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorials may be designated to The Soto Family.
