Joyce Mae Cervantes

Joyce Mae Cervantes, age 68, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Joyce was born on May 1, 1957, in Alliance, Nebraska, the daughter of Juan P. and Faith A. (Greene) Cervantes. She was the mother of seven children, Andrew, Mayola “Maggie”, Bonnie, Ida, Lizeth, Joaquin and Brianna. Joyce, known to many as “Georgia”, and by her grandchildren as “Juicy Joyce”, was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, caring for and keeping a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Joyce liked her old western movies, crocheting, Bingo, garage sales and auctions. Joyce especially loved to dance! Wherever there was music playing, she would snatch you up and begin to dance. Many would say, “They loved her homemade tortillas and Indian Fry Bread”. Others would tell you she liked to joke around in a playful way…making you laugh. Joyce’s children would tell you, “There was no love greater or stronger than hers, even though she had her favorites…Andrew! Joyce “Georgia” will forever be loved and missed by those who came to know her throughout the years…leaving behind memories of laughter and unconditional love. Those who cherish her memory include her children, Andrew Perez, Mayola Perez, Bonnie (Juan) Bautista, Ida Zamora, Lizeth Cervantes and Joaquin Cervantes; 30 grandchildren, Leonard Perez, Vicktor Perez, Monica (Salud) Avalos, Anahi Rivera Perez, Jonathan Perez, Bryan Gamero, Angel Rivera Perez, Israel (Jeresa) Bautista, Guillermo Bautista, Adrian Bautista, Ezequiel Bautista, Matilde Bautista, Nina Verdugo, Emelia Us, Nery Lesiak, Mario Lesiak, Esperanza Lesiek, Giovanni Polard, Oliver Messersmith, Cesar (Nia) Cervantes, Eleazar Cervantes, Daniel Cervantes, Jesus Cervantes, Adan Cervantes, Mylee Cervantes, Ofelia Cervantes, Myia Cervantes, Aiden Cervantes, Karina Cervantes and Ibia Cervantes. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Allison Perez, Ezra Perez, Sofi and Idalis Perez, Elena Bautista, Aimar and Alena Cervantes and Emilio Cervantes; three sisters, Rochelle Kreutzer, Mary Zapata and Rosie (George) Alvardo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brianna Cervantes; grandson, Emilio Cervantes; two brothers, John Cervantes and Jimmy Dubrea; and three sisters, Lisa Chavez, Sulema Martinez and Angelina Salinas.
