Kenneth Blue JR

Kenneth Blue, 75, of Grand Island passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marines and United Veteran’s Honor Guard. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Mr. Blue was born on August 14, 1946 at Kearney, NE to Kenneth C. and Mabel (Monthey) Blue. Kenny graduated from senior high in 1964. Then went to work for John Claussen Construction. In 1966 he joined the Marines for three years. In 1967 he was sent to Vietnam as a field radio operator, on returning back to the states on May 17, 1968 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jeanne (Jelinek) Blue at Central City, NE. after getting out of the service in 1969, moving back to Nebraska he went to work for Cornhusker Ammunition Plant as a material handler. In 1970 he went to work for Union Pacific Railroad in the maintenance of way department as a mechanist helper. In 1993 he got transferred to Pocatello, Idaho. In 1997 he got transferred to Denver, Colorado. In 2006 he retired with 36 and a half years of service. Kenny enjoyed many hobbies. He liked painting and making things out of wood. He also did his own taxidermy of fish he caught. He collected barbed wire. Her was put in the barbed wire collector magazine and also to be put in the book. In 2013 he donated a bunch of different collections to the La Crosse, Kansas Museum. In his honor the museum gave him an area called Kenny and Jeanne Blue Gallery. In 2017 he decided to donate his huge barbed wire collection to the Plainsman Museum in Aurora, NE. He loved to fish. In his lifetime he caught some big ones. He received many master angler awards. Kenny was always there if someone needed help. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors of the immediate family include, Misti (Martin) Phillis, Candi (Lonnie) Hoselton; grandchildren, Heather Dimmitt, Trisha (Sam) Biberos, Kenneth Hoselton, Krystal Hitz; great-grandchildren, Oden Biberos, Roger Biberos, Makenna Hitz, Tyler Hitz, Keira Hitz; sister, Iola Canady. Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; parents, Kenneth and Mabel Blue; sisters, Fern Eddy and Lois Lee.
