Kenneth "Ken" Joseph Bogner

Kenneth “Ken” Joseph Bogner, 81, of Grand Island, NE joined his wife in Heaven on Christmas Day, 2024. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 10am at All Faiths Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 9 - 10am with Dan Naranjo as the officiate. A burial service will follow in Primrose, NE. Ken was born March 30, 1943 to Arthur and Hilda (Korth) Bogner. He grew up on a farm with his sisters Johlene and Judy near Cedar Rapids, NE. He attended school K-12 and graduated in 1961. Soon after graduation, he moved to Grand Island and started working as a bricklayer. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane (Dickey) on November 9, 1962. Ken and Diane were blessed with four children, Kristy (1963), Tim (1965), Marcy (1971) and Todd (1977). They raised their children in the Catholic faith, attending St. Mary’s Catholic church and emphasized faith and family first. The family enjoyed spending time outdoors, grilling, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. Ken worked in masonry until his retirement, building many offices, hospitals, schools and homes in the Grand Island area. He took great pride in his skill and made many friends over the years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cribbage, reading about history and was a skilled pool player. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell (#32) and a memory to share. Ken loved Husker football, even more so, he loved Husker volleyball and rarely missed listening to a game. He enjoyed his cigarettes and never turned down a hot cup of coffee. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Diane (2009), his eldest daughter Kristy (Middleton) (2011) and his eldest son, Tim Bogner (2019). Those who will continue to cherish Ken’s memory include his daughter, Marcy and Chris Hess, his son Todd and Becky Bogner and his son in law, Dan Middleton. Left to continue his love and legacy include his grandson, Blade and Kristie Middleton, his granddaughter Alicia and Matthew Rellihan, granddaughters, Isabella Hess and Kenley Bogner, and his grandsons Christian Hess and Coebin Bogner. His great granddaughter, Ruby Rellihan will grow up knowing about his love and prayers for her. He was always so delighted to hear about her latest discoveries and newest tricks. Also mourning his loss are his sisters, Johlene Whiles and Judy Pfiefer, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ken will be missed greatly by his family, friends and all who knew his joy. He is no longer blind and sedentary for now he has been healed by God’s grace and he is reunited with his loved ones in Heaven.
