Letha Brooks

Letha Brooks, 52 of Grand Island passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at CHI-Health St. Francis. Gathering of Friends and Family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. To honor Letha, family has requested casual attire for the services. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Inurnment of ashes will follow at Grand Island City Cemetery. Letha was born on March 8, 1964 in Creighton, daughter of Bob and Joanne (Angus) Kruger. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Brooks of Grand Island; children, Levi Mueller, Jacob Mueller, Shelby Mueller and Bailey Brooks all of Grand Island; mother, Joanne Kruger; two brothers; one sister; mother and father-in-law, Ernie and Pat Brooks of Grand Island. Letha was preceded in death by her father, Bob Kruger and stepfather, Lyman Campbell. Early on, Letha and her family moved to Grand Island. In 1982 she graduated from Shelton High School. Continuing her education Letha earned her Associate of Dental Assisting with Office Management from Central Community College in Hastings. After working as Dental Assistant she changed career paths and returned to college. From Bellevue College she received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. For many years she was employed as a corrections officer for Hall County and also was employed by Midwest Special Service. In recent years she enjoyed working for Home Healthcare and Companion in Grand Island. She was united in marriage to Bill Mueller on July 6, 1997 until his passing in November of 1998. On December 31, 2002 Letha was united in marriage to Michael Brooks. In her spare time, Letha enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and loved her flower gardens, especially her peonies and marigolds. Through all of Letha’s varied hobbies and jobs, she found her true calling as a mother. She was always there at all of their events, softball, bowling, marching band and many others. She adored her animals and enjoyed sharing stories from her younger days for her children. Letha was a true caring soul and welcomed any and all. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
