Lezlie Ann Bailey

Lezlie Ann (Rentschler) Bailey was born on May 24, 1947, in Ashby, Nebraska, to her mother, Phyllis Anderson. She grew up in the Sandhills surrounded by the love of her grandparents, Andy and Esther Jessen, who helped raise her and shape the foundation of who she became. As a girl, she loved horseback riding, softball, and the simple joys of small town life. She graduated from Hyannis High School in 1965. After high school, Lezlie moved to Grand Island where she attended the Grand Island School of Business. She spent 20 years working for Kelly and Kelly Attorneys before joining McCain Foods, where she retired in 2022. She was proud of her work, but even more proud of the friendships she made along the way. Lezlie carried herself softly, with a quiet strength and a warmth that didn’t need to be loud to be felt. Her love was steady, constant, and unmistakable. She loved her friends deeply and treasured every lunch date, long conversation, and every shared moment. She enjoyed reading, shopping on QVC, sharing funny memes on Facebook, and listening to her favorite artists like John Legend and Post Malone while sipping her vanilla iced coffee. But more than anything, Lezlie loved her family. She lived her life in a way that made the people she cared about feel seen, supported, and deeply loved. She showed up with kindness, humor, and a heart that never ran out of room. Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and she poured herself into every one of those roles. Throughout her life she also cared for many dogs, each one spoiled, adored, and given a wonderful home. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Shannon (Trevor) Nebesniak; her grandchildren, Alexis Nebesniak, Lainey (Jeremy) Miller, Ryder Nebesniak, Griffin Nebesniak, and Darby Nebesniak; her great grandchildren, Alice Miller, Jett Miller, and Henry Miller; and her loyal dog, Murphy and grand dog, Charlie. Lezlie was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis, and her grandparents, Andy and Esther Jessen. Lezlie passed away peacefully at her home in Grand Island on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Her family takes comfort in knowing she lived a life full of love, laughter, and the small joys that made her who she was. A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, August 31st at All Faiths Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. Afterward, burial of ashes will be held at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
