Lori Jean Arriola

Lori Jean Arriola of Grand Island, age 59, was surrounded by loved ones here on Earth in the early evening of February 21, 2024, as she was welcomed into Heaven by her Almighty Father and greeted by loved ones who have passed before her. She was born on March 9, 1964, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Donna Jean Champion and Anthony Michael Krause. Her life in this world was one full of love, joy, and countless blessings; her eternal life in Heaven will be even better. Lori’s Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 29th at 4:30p at The Chocolate Bar in Grand Island. Flowers can be sent to The Chocolate Bar 116 W 3rd, Grand Island, NE 68801. Teal, white or shades of blue attire is requested. Lori grew up in Verona, PA, before moving to California, living in Florida, and settling in Nebraska. Always spirited in her pursuits while living life on her terms, her greatest dream was to be a mom. This dream was realized with the birth of her daughter, Sharena, in 1983. And while she touched the lives of many children through her work as a foster mom in Florida, her family was completed with the addition of her sons, Shawn and Shayne. Her children, their loves, and her grandbabies (including the four-legged ones) made her heart whole. A woman of many passions, nothing came before her love of Jesus. She lived to share His message. Her deep faith in her Heavenly Father led her to dear friends and took her on some of her best adventures, including the time she spent in Germany on a mission trip. She loved to care for the elderly members of her community in need, encourage others, show her creativity through multiple arts and crafts, and take pictures of all the adventures with her family and friends. (So many pictures!) Her struggles were many, including recovery from transplants in 2001, 2009, and 2023. Through it all, Jesus was her rock, and her family and friends were grateful for the extra time they had with her. Those left to cherish her memory and celebrate her entering Heaven include her children and children-in-love, Sharena Arriola Anson and Amos (Grand Island), Shawn Patrick Sumner and Kansas (Lake City, FL), and Shayne Arriola Cuong and Laura (Lincoln); her siblings, Toni Carreon (Redwood City, CA), Barbi Marsh and Gayle (Doniphan), and Tony Krause and Christine (Pittsburgh, PA); her grandbabies, Emily-Grace and Alora-Faith Sumner; her Aunt, Cindy; her nieces and nephews, Nissa Pagdilao and Anthony, John Carreon and Heather, Abel (Junior) Carreon and Jessica, Mallory Marsh and Will, Matthew Marsh, and Morgan Marsh; and her dear friends, many of whom she met through Church. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents; her grandbaby, “Baby C”; her nephew, Mitch Marsh; her first love, Manuel Arriola, and her long-time furry companion, Rex.
