Luis R. Miranda Fabela, 51, of Grand Island passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 surrounded by his family at Grand Island Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Family rosary will follow at 2pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Celebrant will be Fr. Jorge Canela. Burial will follow at Grand Island City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Luis was born on June 21, 1972 in Mexico, son of Isidro Miranda Pena and Maria Monserrat Favela Cruz. He grew up in Mexico where he graduated from High School. On July 19, 2013 he married Martha Ivonne Parra, once they settled in Nebraska they had another ceremony. Luis worked for many years as a welder and pipefitter. He was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, and enjoyed watching soccer. Luis would often update and fix things around the house in his free time. Luis loved to be surrounded by friends and family. He was the life of the party with his stories and singing. He is survived by his wife, Martha; children, Luis Carlos Miranda, Alexis Miranda and Jennifer Miranda; grandchildren, Sofia Miranda, Gianna Miranda and Dayami Alejandra Miranda; Parents, Isidro and Maria; brother Carlos Favela; sister, Olga Miranda Favela; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Luis was preceded in death by his brother, Armando Miranda Favela on October 2, 2017. Luis R. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 11 a.m. a 2 p.m. el domingo 16 de junio de 2024 en All Faiths Funeral Home. El rosario familiar seguirá a las 14:00 horas. La Misa de Cristian Entierro se llevará a cabo a las 10:30 a.m. el lunes 17 de junio de 2024 en la Catedral de Santa María. El celebrante será el P. Jorge Canela. Luis nació el 21 de junio de 1972 en México, hijo de Isidro Miranda Peña y María Monserrat Favela Cruz. Creció en México donde se graduó de la escuela secundaria. El 19 de julio de 2013 se casó con Martha Ivonne Parra, una vez radicados en Nebraska tuvieron otra ceremonia. Luis trabajó durante muchos años como soldador y instalador de tuberías. Era miembro de la Catedral de Santa María y le gustaba ver fútbol. Luis solía actualizar y arreglar cosas de la casa en su tiempo libre. A Luis le encantaba estar rodeado de amigos y familiares. Él fue el alma de la fiesta con sus historias y canto. Le sobreviven su esposa, Martha; los niños, Luis Carlos Miranda, Alexis Miranda y Jennifer Miranda; nietas, Sofia Miranda, Gianna Miranda y Dayami Alejandra Miranda; Padres, Isidro y María; hermano Carlos Favela; hermana, Olga Miranda Favela; y numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos y amigos. Luis fue precedido en la muerte por su hermano, Armando Miranda Favela, el 2 de octubre de 2017.
