Max John Boersen Jr.

Max John Boersen Jr., 79, of Grand Island died peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, surrounded by his family. A service and celebration of Max’ life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. There is a visitation from 9:00 until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Family has requested everyone please wear your racing, husker football, Harley Davidson or military apparel as Max did not like to dress up. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Max was born July 28, 1946, in Grand Island, the son of Max John Boersen Sr. and Evelyn Emma (Meyer) Boersen. He grew up in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1964. On April 3, 1966, Max married Linda Sickels. He was drafted into the United States Army shortly after, doing his tour in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968. Max loved his country, America, and he was proud to have served his time in the service. He was an active member of the VFW and very proud to have taken the Hero Flight to Washington D.C. Max was also instrumental in helping found the original NE Vietnam Veterans Reunion in 1985. He began his electrical career by working with his father at Boersen Electric and was still doing electrical work part time when he was hired as the Hall County Building Inspector until his retirement in 2010. Max had many interests and enjoyed being with his children as he followed their various activities/hobbies throughout the years. Whether it was hunting and fishing, dirt track racing, Husker Football, Karate and Tae Kwon Do or Harley Davidson motorcycles… they were a part of his life. His family was the most important part of his life. Those who cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Linda; his children, Bryon (Mary) Boersen, Douglas (Angie) Boersen, Clint Boersen and Christa Boersen; his 13 grandchildren, Garrett Boersen, Blake Boersen, Allison Boersen, Craig Boersen, Jacob Boersen, Amelia Boersen, Victoria Watson, Noah Boersen, Elijah Boersen, Gracie Boersen, Emily Wilsey, Amaya Trejo and Bradyn Wattier; and 8 great grandchildren, Raelynn Wilsey, Brody Wilsey, Samuel Molina, Ella Molina, Mason Boersen ,Indie Watson, Harbor Watson, and Bella Boersen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Chuck Leach. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister Joyce Boersen; sister Diane Leach; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Roger Townsley; and grandson, Jacob Boersen.
