Nancy Stephens

Nancy L. Stephens, 76, of Doniphan, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Celebration of life gathering will be held from 5 to 7p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements; memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Nancy, iconic mother, grandmother, and animal rescuer, was born on January 4, 1950 in Blair, NE. She was adopted by Richard and Roma (Behrendt) Lamp and grew up on a farm near Blair with her brother, Richard. Her life’s calling to caregiving found Nancy at a young age. She was “Dr. Nancy” to many farm cats and helped her brother as they grew up. Nancy graduated from Blair High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from College of St. Mary’s in Omaha in 1984. Nancy spent her career in nursing homes as Director of Nursing, bringing together the staff to provide better care to the residents they served. She made many lifelong friends and impacted many residents and co-workers. Her love and care didn’t stop with the people in her life; she rescued many animals and loved them alongside her family. Nancy’s world was her children and family. She brought joy and laughter on the many adventures she devised for her kids and grandkids. Nancy was known and loved for her spontaneous adventures with her kids and grandkids. Often a phone call from Nancy and a trip to a concert or cruise was in the next few days Even in difficult times, Nancy had a joke and would end it with her laugh. She never wanted to think of anyone spending the holidays alone and often invited new friends to join her gatherings. Nancy was beautiful on the inside and outside. She made sure to have her signature lipstick on and a sparkling outfit daily. Nancy lived her life full, and she brought her family with her. Her life is celebrated by her children, Laura Downing of Doniphan, Todd (Sarah) Stephens of Grand Island, Keri (Josh) Pierson of St. Paul, Melissa (Ben) Lind of Hastings, and Alex Stephens of Hastings; grandchildren, Tyler, Tara, Trista, Triston, Korey, Madison, Jayden, Gabriella, Alivia, Hunter, Mariah, Adrian, Adriana; great-grandchildren, Louisa, Charlotte and Asher; brothers, Larry Comeau, Dan Weddle and Sam Weddle; along with numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by son, Scott Stephens; brother, Richard Lamp; sisters, Darlene, Georgina, and Gloria; and parents.
