Peggy L. Worm

Peggy L Worm, 74, of Grand Island passed away April 1, 2026, from complications following a stroke. Her final days saw her surrounded by family and friends. In a timing she herself would have appreciated, Peggy’s passing came on April Fool’s Day—fitting for someone who delighted in lighthearted jokes and perfectly timed one-liners. Services will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 10am at All Faiths Funeral Home with Dan Naranjo officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at The Gathering Place (Happy Brush) 305 W 3rd from 11:30-2:00pm. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com Mrs. Worm was born Peggy Lee Davis on June 15, 1951, at Kearney, Nebraska. She grew up in Grand Island and attended Grand Island Public Schools, graduating in 1969. Following graduation, Peggy married Glenn Perkins and moved to Denver, Colorado, where they had two children: Carolynn in 1970 and Glenn II (Sonny) in 1971. In January 1974, Peggy moved back to Grand Island as a single mom, prepared to raise her two children on her own. In November of that year, Peggy met the man who would take care of her for the rest of her life. She married Jesse Worm on April 3, 1976, adding a stepson, Rob. Peggy had many jobs in her younger years, including bartender and retail sales before she found her niche in publishing. In this field she did type setting, composition, and eventually graphic design. She worked for many publishers in the Grand Island area, including The Grand Island Independent, where she retired in 2009. Peggy’s husband of 27 years passed away in December 2003. Peggy was an independent woman who built a life defined by strength, warmth, and genuine connection. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, and nothing brought her more pride than her grandchildren. She attended their events whenever she could, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Peggy also treasured the companionship of her 69ers lunch group, a close-knit circle of her 1969 GISH classmates. Their bond remained strong through the decades, and many of them visited her in her final days. Those left to cherish Peggy’s memory include her children, Carolynn Perkins of Grand Island, Sonny (Crisann) Perkins of rural Fremont, and Rob Worm of Lincoln, three grandchildren, Sean (Danielle) Grobe of Grand Island; Lauren (Justin) Perkins-Arends of Omaha, and Kyle Perkins of Lincoln; three great grandchildren, with another on the way. Siblings include Vicki (Mark) Tylkowski, Dixie Boesen, Keith (Kathy) Davis, Kelly (Bonnie) Davis, and Michael (Darci) Davis. She also leaves behind a large extended family including over 20 nieces and nephews.
