Rocky L. Muir

Rocky Muir, age 70, of Grand Island, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at CHI Health St. Francis with his loving family by his side. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17th at 11am at All Faiths Funeral Home with Dan Naranjo officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Interment will follow at the Naponee Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16th from 5-7pm at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com. Rocky was born on March 20, 1956, in Phillipsburg, KS to Donnie and Gertrude (Fisher) Muir. He lived in Kansas until the family relocated to Nebraska when he was in the 4th grade. He attended Northwest High School and would have graduated with the class of 1975. Rocky was united in marriage to Karen Schritt in 1973, and to this union their daughter, Lisa and son, Daniel were born. The couple later divorced. Rocky was united in marriage to Mary Bohan on September 29, 1984, the couple was married for 41 wonderful years. At the age of 16 Rocky started doing drywall work. In 1991, Rocky and his brother Terry, founded and operated T & R Drywall and he worked there until he retired. Rocky took great pride in his 1967 Mustang Fastback and 1969 Mach 1 Mustang. He attended many car shows over the years and brought home several awards and trophies. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and cherished the time with Lisa traveling to Sturgis. Rocky had a wonderful group of friends, and they made many fun memories together. He was a die-hard Husker football fan, liked camping and spending time with his dogs. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary; children, Lisa (Jason) Wood and Daniel Muir; grandchildren, Jordan (Danielle) Muir, Skylar Wood (special friend, Nissi), Ryder Wood, DJ (Camry) Muir, Jeremy Muir, Jace Muir, Caitlyn Muir and Hailey Burkhardt; 7 great grandchildren; sister in-law, Rita Muir; special cousin, Theresa Kelly; dear friends, Bob and Rose Helgoth, Larry Kosmicki and Ted Jankovitz and numerous nieces and nephews. Rocky was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Donnie and Margaret Muir; mother and stepfather, Gertrude and Eugene Davis; grandson, Jaden Muir and siblings, Carla (Butch) Eddy, Terry Muir and David Muir.
