Terry Glen Rinke

Terry Glen Rinke, age 70, of Buhler, KS formerly of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, KS. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31st at 10am at All Faiths Funeral Home with Dan Naranjo officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Phillips Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to donor’s choice, Central Nebraska Humane Society, American Liver Foundation or the Leukemia Foundation. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com. Terry was born on March 9, 1955, in Grand Island to Clyde and Katheryn (Keen) Rinke. He attended school in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1973. He then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, earning his degree in 1977. On April 22, 1978, Terry was united in marriage to Dora Ellen Veeder, and together they established their home in Grand Island. Terry dedicated several years to a career as an over-the-road truck driver before starting work at Island Supply and Welding in 1989, where he worked until his retirement in 2007. He was a devoted member of the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Island and found great joy in spending time with his family. His faith journey began during his college years, and he remained steadfast in his walk with God throughout his life, imparting his love for God to his children. Terry took pleasure in gardening and driving, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. In February 2021, he moved to Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, KS, where he resided until his passing. While there, he attended Haven Baptist Church in Haven, KS, remaining as active in his faith and community as his health allowed. Terry is lovingly remembered by his children, Andrea (Adam) Wafer of Mobile, AL, Gary (Hellen) Rinke of Aurora, and Lydia (Jonathan) Broyles of Haven, KS; as well as his grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, and William Rinke. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence Rinke of Long Beach, CA, and sisters, Elsie Patterson of Taylor, MI, and Pauline Armstrong of San Diego, CA, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Dora, his brother, Paul Rinke, and his sister, Minnie Leitner.
